This week I’m joined by the host of Hunting Camp Downunder podcast Craig Hailes. Craig Hailes grew up on a pig farm and had a bow in his hands from a very young age.
Ever since entering archery Craig has applied himself to it, whether it be 3D archery competitions, bowhunting, his podcast or his consultancy work in which he helps bowhunters apply for oversea’s hunts of a lifetime.
Craig gives away all he knows when it comes to finding big mountain boars. He explains the do’s and don’t when it comes to stalking mountain boars to ensure you don’t scare them off forever.
Craig helps to answer some listener questions about what to do when you can’t get access to keep your hunting skills alive and active.
Mr Hailes also goes a little into detail about guided hunts and about his experiences over in USA. Craig explains how and why the consultancy work came about and talks a little bit about how much of a jumble and lottery it is from state to state. With the consulting he helps you apply for where and what you want to hunt to ensure you have the best experience possible.
Whether you’re planning on hunting USA multiple times or if it’s a once in a lifetime trip, Craig can’t stress enough how important it is to get in early and start applying for tags for the years to come.
